Slayings Believed Linked to Drugs, Not Sniper
From Times Wire Reports
Investigators said two of three slayings outside convenience stores were apparently drug-related, not the acts of a sniper targeting random victims.
Ballistic tests show a .22-caliber rifle was used in the two Aug. 14 shootings in the Campbells Creek area, Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Phil Morris said.
Ballistic tests were incomplete for the third victim, but the characteristics of the bullet are similar to those in the other two shootings, Morris said.
