Shining a Bright Light on Dana Point’s Charade

Re “New Dana Point Clerk a Poor Hire, Critics Say,” Dec. 8:

I want to commend you for the article by Stanley Allison exposing the charade by the majority of the Dana Point City Council. The council members hired a city clerk, for $90,000 a year and in a closed session, who had no experience and whose only credential was that she was the mayor’s former girlfriend.

They did all this without a competitive recruitment so that no one with experience would be able to apply. The only way to stop such frauds is by shedding light on the activity.

The Times again showed courage to print the truth without equivocation. Thank you.
