Police Break Up 4th Day of Protests

Police fired warning shots to break up a fourth day of protests led by university students demanding the ouster of President Jean-Bertrand Aristide.
Hundreds of people joined about 200 students as they marched from the state university to midtown Port-au-Prince, where they confronted police.
Haiti’s situation has deteriorated along with deepening poverty and unemployment. Critics say some officials are enriching themselves through favors and the drug trade.
