The Defense Department last week also identified the following American military personnel killed in Iraq:

Joseph M. Blickenstaff, 23, of Corvallis, Ore.; specialist, Army. Blickenstaff died Monday in Duluiyah, Iraq, when his vehicle flipped into a canal. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, based at Ft. Lewis, Wash.

Richard A. Burdick, 24, of National City, Calif.; staff sergeant, Army. Burdick died Wednesday in Mosul, Iraq, when his vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to Company C, 3rd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), based at Ft. Campbell, Ky.

Ray J. Hutchinson, 20, of League City, Texas; private first class, Army. Hutchinson died Dec. 7 in Mosul when an improvised explosive device hit his vehicle. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), based at Ft. Campbell, Ky.

Jerrick M. Petty, 25, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; private first class, Army. Petty was killed Wednesday in Mosul. He was attacked by enemy forces while guarding a gas station and died of his injuries. He was assigned to Company B, 3rd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), based at Ft. Campbell, Ky.

Aaron T. Reese, 31, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; staff sergeant, Army National Guard. Reese died Wednesday while on patrol on the Tigris River when he fell overboard south of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 135th Military Police Company, Army National Guard, based in Brookpark, Ohio.

Christopher J. Rivera Wesley, 26, of Portland, Ore.; specialist, Army. Wesley died Monday in Duluiyah when his vehicle flipped into a canal. Wesley was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, based at Ft. Lewis, Wash.

Jason G. Wright, 19, of Luzerne, Mich.; private first class, Army. Wright died Monday in Mosul when his vehicle came under fire from a passing vehicle. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), based at Ft. Campbell, Ky.
