Oil Worker Appeals Employment Lawsuit
A Bakersfield oil worker who was fired after his co-worker shot him in the leg with a pellet gun to get him to work faster has claimed his wrongful termination lawsuit was unfairly thrown out and filed an appeal notice.
A lawyer for Jermaine Jamison, an oil derrick worker, filed the appeal notice on Sept. 16.
Jamison was working for Key Energy Services when a tool pusher, Carl Rogers, shot him in the leg to get him to work faster on July 3, 2001, according to his lawsuit.
Hospital staff reported the incident to police, but no criminal charges were filed.
Rogers and Jamison were later fired.
