A San Bernardino County Superior Court judge ruled Thursday that there is sufficient evidence to try a 31-year-old Rancho Cucamonga High School teacher accused of committing felony sex acts against one of her 16-year-old students.

Stacy Lynn Behrmann, a former teacher and girls’ tennis coach, faces a possible five-year prison sentence if convicted.

During the hearing, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy Aaron Outlaw testified that the girl’s friendship with Behrmann evolved at school, leading to visits to Behrmann’s apartment to watch movies in January. Outlaw alleged that 10 instances of sexual contact followed.

The two “talked of getting married, [how] they loved each other,” Outlaw testified.

According to investigative reports, Behrmann allegedly expressed displeasure that the accuser’s parents learned of the relationship, telling the girl in a taped telephone conversation, “If we get out of this, and you’re 18, if you still want to be together, you need to think about it. OK?”
