Officer Killed, Partner Hurt Executing Warrant
From Times Wire Reports
A sheriff’s deputy was shot to death and another was wounded as they executed a search warrant in a child pornography case, officials said.
Det. Todd Fatta, 33, was killed when shots hit him in the chest, penetrating his protective vest, Broward County Sheriff Ken Jenne said. Fatta’s partner Sgt. Angelo Cedeno was shot in the hand and shoulder.
The occupant of the house, Kenneth Wilk, 42, was taken into custody. Other officers returned fire at Wilk, but he was not injured, Jenne said.
