Anaheim Nudging L.A. Out of NFL Picture?
A few years back, L.A.’s astute leadership fumbled away an NFL expansion opportunity to Houston. Now, the mayor is upset that the NFL is giving consideration to an Anaheim site.
Over the years the Coliseum Commission has succeeded in alienating and chasing away the Lakers, Kings, Bruins, Rams and Raiders. Yeah, can’t figure out why the NFL might be a bit leery of putting another team in that jewel.
Meanwhile, Anaheim could add a state-of-the-art football stadium to what is already a terrific sports complex with Angel Stadium and the Pond.
If Mayor James Hahn is really serious about getting the NFL back in Los Angeles, he should quit whining and start coming up with the goods to compete with Orange County.
