From Times Staff Reports

A tough fight between two companies hoping to run the popular weekend swap meet at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa apparently ended with one firm not bidding on the contract.

Delaware North’s failure to meet a Friday deadline for bids left Tel-Phil Enterprises, which has operated the event since 1969, as the sole contender. The swap meet generates about $15 million a year in sales.
