From Times Wire Reports

NAACP Chairman Julian Bond condemned Bush administration policies on education, the economy and the war in Iraq, imploring the nation’s oldest civil rights group to increase voter turnout to oust the president.

Bond’s remarks were part of his keynote address at the convention of the National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People in Philadelphia.

Leaders are upset that President Bush has no plans to attend. Democratic challenger Sen. John F. Kerry is to speak Thursday.
