One Person Killed in Casino Bus Accident
A chartered casino bus slammed into a tractor-trailer as the rig pulled onto Interstate 10 near Anahuac, killing a woman and sending many other people to hospitals, authorities said.
About 30 people were on the Coach USA bus, which was making the 135-mile trip back to Houston from Harrah’s casino at Lake Charles, La.
The truck had been pulled over by state troopers for a safety check about a half-hour before the accident, Trooper Richard Vasser said. The driver was pulling back onto the highway when the bus struck the trailer, Vasser said.
