U.S. Halts Magazine for Arabic-Speaking Youths
From Times Wire Reports
The State Department said it had suspended publication of a government-funded magazine for young people in the Middle East, Africa and elsewhere.
About 55,000 copies of the Arabic-English magazine, called Hi, were distributed monthly in 18 countries. It was intended to improve the U.S. image.
State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said officials wanted to evaluate the effectiveness of the effort. A related website will continue.
