Rice Tells Government to Keep Word in Darfur

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said there had been progress in the Darfur region but that the world would not accept mere promises from Sudan’s new government to halt violence there.
The United States is making a difference in helping refugees and halting atrocities, Rice said before arriving in Khartoum, the capital.
Rice planned to visit a Darfur refugee camp today.
