Sam Moran, who has been performing with the popular children’s group the Wiggles for more than a decade as a backup singer and dancer, will become one of the four principals now that one of its founders has left.

Greg Page, who performed in the Australian group in a bright yellow T-shirt, announced Thursday he will stop performing after being diagnosed with a chronic condition that causes dizziness, fatigue and nausea.

“It’s not a life-threatening condition by any means, but it is one that’s going to be with me for the rest of my life,” said Page, 34. “It means that I’ll no longer be able to sing and dance as I want to, and as a result I’ve decided to stop performing with the Wiggles.”

His fellow band members said they were sad and disappointed by the news. But red Wiggle Murray Cook said he didn’t think too many kids would notice Moran replacing Page.

“Children tend to center on one thing, so if he’s wearing the yellow skivvy [shirt], he’s got black hair -- he’s pretty much Greg,” Cook said.
