Everett honored by PEN USA

Percival Everett II, an English professor at the University of Southern California, has won the PEN USA 2006 Literary Award for his 15th novel, “Wounded,” a tale that deals with racial and sexual intolerance in America.
Everett, who won in the category for best fiction, was to receive a $1,000 prize during a ceremony Tuesday night at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
