Fire indicator light sends United jet back to LAX

United Flight 708 to Portland, Ore., returned to Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday after an emergency light went on in the cockpit, indicating a possible fire in a wheel well.
The Boeing 737 landed safely at 2:18 p.m., and firefighters reported no fire, smoke or black marks on the aircraft. United mechanics will investigate, officials said.
