at Western Michigan 16, Northern Illinois 14: The Broncos (4-2, 2-1) held Garrett Wolfe, the nation’s leading rusher, to 25 yards and got three field goals from Nate Meyer to beat the Huskies (4-3, 3-2) in a Mid-American Conference game at Kalamazoo. Wolfe was averaging 223.8 yards a game.
at Central Michigan 18, Ball State 7: Dan LeFevour ran for two touchdowns and had 248 yards of total offense to lead the Chippewas (4-3, 4-0) over the Cardinals (2-5, 2-2) in a MAC game at Mount Pleasant.
at Bowling Green 24, Eastern Michigan 21: Chris Bullock scored on a 15-yard run early in the fourth quarter to lead the Falcons (4-3, 3-1) over the Eagles (0-6, 0-3) in a MAC game at Bowling Green, Ohio.
at Kent State 40, Toledo 14: Eugene Jarvis ran for 179 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Golden Flashes (5-2, 4-0) over the Rockets (2-5, 0-3) in a MAC game at Kent, Ohio.
Tulsa 31, at East Carolina 10: Paul Smith rushed for two touchdowns and threw for another to lead the Golden Hurricane (5-1, 2-0) over the Pirates (2-4, 1-2) in a Conference USA game at Greenville, N.C.
at Southern Methodist 31, Marshall 21: Justin Willis threw for 208 yards and four touchdowns off the bench to lead the Mustangs (4-3, 2-1) over the Thundering Herd (1-4, 0-2) in a Conference USA game at Dallas.
at Southern Mississippi 31, Houston 27: Jeremy Young threw two touchdown passes and rushed for another score to lead the Golden Eagles (4-2, 2-1) over the Cougars (4-3, 2-1) in a Conference USA game at Hattiesburg.
at Rice 34, Alabama Birmingham 33: Chase Clement threw a nine-yard touchdown pass with 3.5 seconds left to Jarett Dillard, his third touchdown catch of the game, to rally the Owls (2-5, 1-2) over the Blazers (3-4, 2-1) in a Conference USA game at Houston.
at Texas El Paso 34, Tulane 20: Jordan Palmer threw for 230 yards and three touchdowns, including two in the second quarter to lead the Miners (4-2, 2-0) over the Green Wave (2-4, 1-3) in a Conference USA game.
Arkansas State 26, at Memphis 23: Patrick Higgins caught a 53-yard pass from Corey Leonard as time expired to give the Indians (4-2) the victory over the Tigers (1-5) at Memphis, Tenn., and end a 10-game losing streak in the series.
at Troy 24, Louisiana Monroe 19: Justin Brooks ran for two touchdowns and Omar Haugabook passed for a career-high 246 yards to lead the Trojans (2-4, 1-0) over the Warhawks (1-5, 0-3) in a Sun Belt Conference game at Troy, Ala.
