Pro-Abbas forces release Hamas official
Forces loyal to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas released a top Hamas official Saturday after holding him for 19 days, sources with Hamas and the security forces said.
Ahmed Doleh, assistant to the interior minister in the Hamas-led government that Abbas, of the rival Fatah movement, dismissed last month, had spent several days on a hunger strike since his arrest in Nablus.
Abbas’ forces last week released five other Hamas officials and a politician held in Nablus, but 15 others with the militant Islamist group remained in custody.
