Prince Harry is serving in Afghanistan
Britain’s Prince Harry has secretly served on the front lines in Afghanistan for 2 1/2 months, the Defense Ministry said after international websites leaked the information.
Officials said they were reviewing whether Harry, 23, should remain in dangerous Helmand province, fearing that he could now become a target.
The son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana is third in line to the throne. He was deployed in December, seven months after plans to send him to Iraq were scrapped.
The army posted him to Afghanistan only after British journalists and selected members of the international news media agreed not to report his presence until he returned from a scheduled four- to-six-month deployment.
That embargo was broken by German, Australian and U.S. websites.
