City litigation
Re “Subpoena escalates rivalry,” June 27
What could be worse than millions of dollars spent on hiring outside attorneys and increased office costs in the city’s workers compensation division? How about two city agencies suing each other over it at taxpayer expense? Taxpayers have no choice but to pick up the tab on both sides of this fight!
The rivalry between City Atty. Rocky Delgadillo and Controller Laura Chick will only bloat a city budget that is already in the red. As city leaders look for new ways to tax us, they should consider quickly ending what will be a costly legal rivalry at our expense. Taxpayers shouldn’t have to carry the burden for internal bickering.
