Motorist dies in crash on the 210
A motorist was killed early Monday after a two-vehicle crash on the 210 Freeway left his car wedged under a parked semi-trailer, authorities said.
The crash on the eastbound 210, east of La Tuna Canyon Road near Tujunga, occurred about 7:50 a.m. when the motorist rear-ended the parked trailer, said Todd Workman, public affairs officer for the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of the big-rig said he had stopped on the shoulder because of a problem with the trailer, Workman said.
The driver said he had detached the trailer and was sitting in the truck, waiting for help, when he saw in his rearview mirror a silver Mazda 3 veer onto the shoulder and crash into the trailer, Workman said.
