From the Associated Press

No. 4 Florida 30, at Tennessee 6: Tim Tebow threw two touchdown passes for the Gators (3-0, 1-0) and helped Coach Urban Meyer improve to 4-0 against the Volunteers (1-2, 0-1) at Knoxville. Brandon James, who ran back a punt for a touchdown in last season’s 59-20 Gators victory against the Volunteers, returned a punt 78 yards for a touchdown to put Florida up 17-0 with 4:42 in the first quarter. It was another quiet day for Tebow, last season’s Heisman Trophy winner. He completed eight of 15 passes for 96 yards and no interceptions and ran 12 times for 26 yards.

No. 9 Alabama 49, at Arkansas 14: Javier Arenas and Justin Woodall scored on long interception returns for touchdowns and the Crimson Tide (4-0, 1-0) routed the Razorbacks (2-1, 0-1) at Fayetteville. Alabama led 35-7 at halftime, and six of the Crimson Tide’s seven touchdowns covered at least 25 yards. It was Bobby Petrino’s most lopsided loss as a college coach. He was 41-9 in four seasons at Louisville before last year’s unpleasant stint with the Atlanta Falcons.

Vanderbilt 23, at Mississippi 17: Ryan Hamilton tied a school record with three interceptions, scored a touchdown on an interception return and saved a score with a goal-line tackle to help the Commodores (4-0, 2-0) beat the Rebels (2-2, 0-1) at Oxford. Vanderbilt is 4-0 for only the fourth time since World War II
