Disgraced pols can dance too

Re “ ‘Dancing’ With DeLay,” by Matea Gold, Aug. 18: How apropos that former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay will be appearing on “Dancing With the Stars.” The man has been dancing around the issues for years.

Here’s an idea for a ratings-grabber now that “Dancing With the Stars” has booked as a contestant former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay despite his indictment.

Rival show “So You Think You Can Dance” should present a Disgraced Politician of the Week, featuring such luminaries as Rod Blagojevich, Eliot Spitzer, Marion Barry, Gary Hart, John Edwards and Larry Craig.

And since gender in dance has become more flexible, how about making a couple of these politicians a dance team? Who could resist tuning in to see Craig and Blago arm in arm in a hot cha-cha?
