The Nevada Opera will live to sing another day, thanks to donations from the Reno community.
The opera company said last month it needed to raise $100,000 to stay afloat or face possible bankruptcy.
With a challenge donation of $50,000, opera association president Randi Thompson said the group exceeded its goal with $165,000 and $20,000 more in pledges.
The opera will now go ahead with a production of “La Boheme” in April.
