Re: Dan Neil’s auto column, “Dodge Ram 1500: the pickup as Prozac,” March 20:

I found Dan Neil’s opening remarks to be reprehensible, disrespectful to the millions of people who have lost someone to suicide, and totally irresponsible.

As a survivor who has lost someone to suicide by gunshot, I was outraged at the cavalier depiction of someone contemplating suicide as a solution to their problems. Maybe Mr. Neil should spend a few hours answering some of the thousands of calls local suicide crisis lines handle every year.
