Brooklyn Children’s Museum, 145 Brooklyn Ave., Brooklyn, N.Y.; (718) 735-4400, https://www.brooklynkids.org. Expanded in 2009. Interactive science, history and sustainability exhibitions with a large artifact collection. All ages, closed Mondays and Tuesdays, $7.50 adults and children.

Children’s Museum of Houston, 1500 Binz St., Houston; (713) 522-1138, https://www.cmhouston.org. Expanded in 2009. Bilingual (Spanish/English) science, engineering and civics exhibitions. Children up to age 12. Closed many Mondays. $7 adults and children.

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, 3000 N Meridian St., Indianapolis; (317) 334-4000, https://www.childrensmuseum.org. Expanded in 2009, this science and history museum has 110,000 objects. Up to age 13. Open daily. $15.50 adults, $10.50 children.

Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, 1600 Gendy St., Fort Worth, Texas; (817) 255-9300, https://www.fwmuseum.org. Expanded in 2009. Cutting-edge science technology exhibitions, planetarium and Omni Theater. All ages. Open daily; $14 adults, $10 children.

Madison Children’s Museum, 100 N. Hamilton St., Madison, Wis.; (608) 256-6445, https://www.madisonchildrensmuseum.org. Scheduled to reopen in August, with art and science exhibitions. Up to age 12; new hours and admission to be determined.

New Children’s Museum, 200 West Island Ave., San Diego; (619) 233-8792, https://www.thinkplaycreate.org. Expanded in 2008, interactive contemporary art installations and studio art classes. All ages. Closed Wednesday; $10 adults and children.
