Hot Property: Adam Levine sets price for Beverly Hills mansion at $47.5 million
Adam Levine of Maroon 5 fame and his wife, model Behati Prinsloo, are on the move again.
The celebrity couple — who sold two L.A.-area homes last year — have put their Beverly Hills home on the market for $47.5 million. The listing comes roughly three months after Levine and Prinsloo purchased a Pacific Palisades home from actors Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner for $32 million.
Their Beverly Hills home is long on star appeal, having been previously owned by “Will & Grace” creator Max Mutchnick and, before him, tennis star Pete Sampras.
Set on more than an acre of grounds, the gated estate centers on a grand traditional-style house of nearly 10,400 square feet. Built in 1933 and recently remodeled, the classic two-story features custom steel-framed doors and windows, hardwood floors and paneled walls painted various monochromatic hues.
The formal dining room, dressed in a milky white, has a wet bar. There are two kitchens, each equipped with islands and high-end appliances. Another bar sits off a screening room. There’s also a gym.
Including a separate guesthouse, the home offers a total of five bedrooms and 12 bathrooms.
Outside, the landscaped property has space for entertaining in the form of a paver patio with a built-in barbecue and a fire pit. An oval-shaped swimming pool sits below the patio area. Elsewhere is a tennis court.

Levine, 40, is the lead vocalist and guitarist for Maroon 5. The Grammy-winning pop-rock group has hits that include “She Will Be Loved,” “This Love” and “Moves Like Jagger.” The group’s last album, “V” (2014), sold more than 2 million copies worldwide.
Since 2010, he has appeared as a coach/judge on the singing competition series “The Voice.”
Prinsloo, 30, has been featured in ad campaigns for scores of luxury brands including Juicy Couture and Tommy Hilfiger. After a two-year hiatus, she returned to the runway last year at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show.
Looking to score by the beach
Kevin Durant isn’t letting the NBA playoffs get in the way of a little housekeeping.
The Golden State Warriors superstar has listed his Malibu home for sale at $13.495 million. Durant bought the place last year for $12.05 million.
The multilevel house, built in 1976 and recently remodeled, is tailored for beachfront living with sliding walls of glass and terrace balconies on three levels. A small wooden staircase descends from the main patio area directly to a sandy cove on Broad Beach.
An open-concept living room, a dining room, a center-island kitchen, four bedrooms and six bathrooms lie within more than 5,100 square feet of interior space. There’s also a media room with a glass-enclosed wine rack and a movie theater. An elevator serves each floor.
An outdoor spa and dining patio finish off the indoor-outdoor setting.

Durant, 30, is a 10-time all-star and was the NBA’s most valuable player in 2014. Last year, the high-scoring forward won his second NBA title with the Warriors while earning his second consecutive NBA Finals most valuable player award.
He is in the first year of a two-year, $61.5-million contract extension with the Warriors but can opt out of the deal and become a free agent at the end of the year.
Pro will volley for sale
After 29 years, retired tennis pro Michael Chang is looking for a change of scenery. His Coto de Caza mansion, complete with two tennis courts, is on the market for $8 million.
Chang became the first man of Asian descent to win a major tournament — the French Open in 1989 — and he built the jam-packed property a year later.
Across 9.5 acres, the estate holds a pair of homes that total more than 10,000 square feet, clay and hard tennis courts, a basketball court, two putting greens, a koi pond with a bridge and a resort-style pool with a waterfall and spa.
A grand foyer with a sweeping staircase kicks off the main residence, which holds seven bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms across 7,665 square feet. The fireplaces have been restored; the bathrooms have been remodeled; and the common spaces feature neutral tones and recessed lighting.
Highlights include an expansive living and dining area, a chef’s kitchen and a spacious loft. Upstairs, the master suite offers a dual-sided fireplace, wet bar and two walk-in closets before expanding to a deck.

A few octaves lower
Grammy-nominated entertainer Michael Feinstein has put his historic home in the Los Feliz neighborhood back up for sale. This time around, the singer-pianist has tuned the asking price to $18.895 million, down from $26 million last year.
A stellar example of the Tudor Revival style, the brick-faced mansion has political ties, having been a Russian consulate from 1935 to the early 1950s. Feinstein and his husband, Terrence Flannery, acquired the property in 1998 for around $2.5 million.
Built in 1926, the three-story house features a dramatic entrance gallery filled with handsome inlaid wood floors and original detailing. Scaled formal rooms boasting French doors and beamed and coffered ceilings sit off the entry.
The third floor, previously unfinished, was renovated by Feinstein and his husband to include a home theater, a wet bar, an office and extensive storage. A gym and a temperature-controlled wine cellar also lie within the nearly 15,400-square-foot interior. Professional-grade appliances highlight the updated kitchen.
There are six bedrooms and 6.75 bathrooms plus a guesthouse with a separate entrance.
Outdoors, gardens and landscaping create a lush backdrop for various terraces and patio areas. Citrus trees frame a scallop-shaped swimming pool.
Feinstein, 62, is recognized as one of the master interpreters of works by such composers as George and Ira Gershwin and Cole Porter. The recording artist has released 28 studio albums, most recently “A Michael Feinstein Christmas” in 2014.
He serves as the principal conductor for the Pasadena Symphony and Pops and as the artistic director of the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Ind.

Hometown advantage for pitching ace
Nationals hurler Stephen Strasburg has sold a Spanish-style home in his hometown of San Diego for $1.305 million.
That’s $44,000 less than the original asking price, but the three-time All-Star still came out on top. He paid $1.24 million for the property through a trust in 2010 soon after signing a four-year rookie contract with the Washington Nationals worth $15.1 million — which at the time was the most guaranteed money ever given to a draft pick.
Found in the gated golf course community of Santaluz, the home boasts stucco and clay tile on the outside and hardwood floors on the inside.
In 3,570 square feet, there are four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a living room, formal dining room and family room with a fireplace. The open-concept space connects to a kitchen complete with dark hardwood cabinetry and a breakfast nook.
The second story adds a lofted media room and the master suite, which opens through arches to a Juliet balcony.
A flagstone patio with a fire pit takes in hilly views out back. Off to the side, the garage and privacy gate form a courtyard accessed by the dining room.
