Talking TV: ‘Sons of Anarchy’

Share

“Sons of Anarchy,” FX’s motorcycle gang drama, roared into its seventh and final season Tuesday, and it is clearly out for blood. The quasi-heroic Jax (Charlie Hunnam) appears to have given up all hope for building a different life for his sons. Like so many gangsters before him, he had dreamed of turning himself and his SAMCRO brothers into something approaching a legitimate business. Then his beloved wife was brutally murdered at the end of last season. By Jax’s equally beloved mother, Gemma (Katy Sagal), which Jax does not know. Yet.

All hope abandoned, Jax now seems determined to exact vengeance and settle all family business, with, apparently, as high a body count as possible.

Will the show go out with a full-scale gang war? Can Jax find some sort of redemption? Will he, and the audience, survive his inevitable discovery that it was his mom who put a meat fork in Tara’s head? Join us to discuss all these questions at noon, and send your thoughts to #asklatimes.
