Melinda Wall places fresh flowers on the graves of her grandfather and mother. Wall’s mother, Maria Elena Hicks, was shot and killed earlier this month after confronting a youth spraying graffiti on a wall in her Pico Rivera neighborhood. Her daughter says that she will maintain the grave weekly.
