Earthquake: 3.2 quake strikes near Salinas

A shallow magnitude 3.2 earthquake was reported Saturday afternoon nine miles from Ridgemark, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 4:22 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 2.5 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 12 miles from Hollister, Calif., 17 miles from Soledad, Calif., 19 miles from Salinas, Calif., and 130 miles from Sacramento.

In the last 10 days, there have been four earthquakes magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
