Earthquake: 3.3 quake strikes near Mammoth Lakes, Calif.
A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Thursday afternoon one mile from Mammoth Lakes, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 1:08 p.m. PDT at a depth of 5 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 70 miles from Clovis, 72 miles from Sanger, 76 miles from Fresno and 113 miles from Carson City, Nev.
In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
