A 28-year-old man and his 18-year-old nephew were arrested early Monday on suspicion of burglarizing a church in northern San Diego County, the Sheriff’s Department said.

Daniel Arango and his nephew Luis Arango were arrested on suspicion of breaking into the Apostolic Assembly of the Faith church in San Marcos, the Sheriff’s Department said.

Both are in county jail and face charges of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and resisting arrest. They were arrested as deputies responded to a “burglary in progress” call shortly after midnight.

“Both suspects were uncooperative and resisted arrest and force was used to take both into custody,” said Lt. Jason Vickery.

A police dog and a Taser were used to make the arrests, Vickery added. The men “were in possession of property and cash taken from inside” the church, he said.
