Simon Cowell on Larry King

Simon Cowell is in his final six weeks as an “American Idol” judge, but if he’s having any second thoughts about leaving, he’s not betraying them.

Cowell -- along with fellow judges Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres and host Ryan Seacrest -- were guests on “Larry King Live” Monday (April 19), and King asked Cowell if it’s going to be hard to leave when the show wraps on May 26.

“No. No it’s not,” Cowell responded flatly. “I’ve had nine years. Genuinely, I’ve had the best time of my life, and I’m very grateful and as you say, lucky. But you always know when it’s the right time to go. And I’ll look back and say we’ve had a great time. I always promised myself that I wanted to leave and be able to say that.”
