Derrick Rose’s run in Chicago: A timeline

Chicago native Derrick Rose is leaving his hometown. Rose, the No. 1 pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, Justin Holiday and a 2017 second-round pick have been traded to the New York Knicks in exchange for Robin Lopez, Jerian Grant and Jose Calderon. While with the Bulls, Rose was named the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2009 and league MVP in 2011, yet his seasons were also injury plagued. Here's a look back at his time with the Bulls:

Rose receives 111 of 120 first-place votes for Rookie of the Year. He joins Michael Jordan and Elton Brand as Bulls winners, saying: "I was telling all of you (reporters) that I didn't really care, but … my biggest thing was to get this award."

Bulls beat Cavs in semifinals

Rose beats the buzzer with a 3-pointer that gives him 30 points and gives the Bulls a 2-1 series lead on the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference semifinals. The Cavaliers, though, win the next three and the series.

Rose accused of sexual assault

A woman previously involved in a sexual relationship with Rose accused Rose and two friends of rape, seeking $21.5 million in damages. The woman, 29, listed in court documents as "Jane Doe," accuses the three men of assaulting her in Los Angeles in August 2013. Rose has denied the allegations, both publicly and in court filings.

Rose fractures bones in face

Rose's injury woes continue when he's elbowed in the face and suffers a fractured left orbital bone on the first day of training camp, causing him to miss the first two weeks of practice.
