It gets worse: Hanley Ramirez leaves game in 6th with leg injury [Updated]

The Dodgers are running out of bodies in a hurry in San Francisco, and their latest to go down could be serious.

Shortstop Hanley Ramirez, playing in just his fourth game after recovering from thumb surgery, injured his left leg when strangely trying to go from first to third on a single to right in the sixth inning Friday night in San Francisco.

The Dodgers were already down to just three healthy position players when Ramirez walked to lead off the sixth. When A.J. Ellis hit a single to Hunter Pence -- who has a good arm -- in right, Ramirez made a knucklehead decision and tried to advance to third.

The throw from Pence had him by several feet, but when he came up after sliding, he was holding the back of his left leg just behind his knee. He started limping and then was helped off the field.

He left the game and was replaced by Justin Sellers. There was no immediate announcement on his injury, though it may have been a hamstring.

[Updated at 9:30: The Dodgers confirmed that Hanley did leave the game with a left hamstring injury. The seriousness of the injury will be determined later.]

The Dodgers placed Ted Lilly (back) on the disabled list prior to the game, and had to scratch Adrian Gonzalez (neck) from the lineup. Mark Ellis (quad) and Carl Crawford (hamstring) were still sitting out.
