At 6 feet 11, junior center Chance Comanche of View Park Prep is so tall that he was standing flat footed underneath the basket at Beverly Hills High on Tuesday clinging to the net trying to stop the rim from shaking.

Comanche scored 24 points in his season debut to help View Park defeat Dominguez, 84-43, in an opening game of the Beverly Hills tournament.

View Park should be one of the four best teams in the City Section this season regardless of divisions and make a real run at a state Division V championship. Besides Comanche, 6-8 Jason Carter and Taft transfer Darius Henderson made positive impressions. View Park showed off an impressive full-court press, speed, size and quickness.
