Oaks Christian Coach Bill Redell, known for hiring top assistant coaches, has hired former Loyola High and Cal State Northridge Coach Jeff Kearin as his defensive coordinator and former UCLA receiver Mike Sherrard as his offensive coordinator.

Another hire is former Oaks Christian assistant Clay Matthews, who is returning to be the associate director of football operations and work with the freshman-sophomore team and varsity when he’s not going to watch his sons, Clay and Casey, play in NFL games.

Former UCLA players Skip Hicks and Ron Pitts will join the staff. Former El Camino Real Coach Mike Maio, who used to be an Oaks Christian assistant, is returning to coach special teams. Former Oaks Christian quarterback Chris Potter, who finished his career at Boise State, will become the offensive coordinator for the freshman-sophomore team.
