Football: Chatsworth’s line play helps offense score lots of touchdowns
The skill-position players at Chatsworth High might want to put some money in a hat and take out the linemen to dinner, because they’re the ones helping the offense score points in large numbers this season.
Chatsworth (3-0) has put up 60 points on Viewpoint, 47 on Village Christian and 62 on Fairfax.
“I like how our linemen are developing,” Coach Andrew Kim said.
Leading the way has been two-way starter Michael Sandoval, who’s also an effective long snapper.
Quarterback Tyger Goslin, who has 13 touchdown passes, has been sacked maybe once or twice this season, Kim said.
Running back Tawan Funches has 456 yards rushing thanks to the Chancellors’ good blocking.
If Chatsworth continues its scoring outbursts, it could become the favorite to win the West Valley League this season.
