Cardale Jones to remain Ohio State’s starting quarterback
Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer announced Wednesday evening that junior Cardale Jones will remain the team’s starting quarterback.
Jones has started the first three games of the season, all wins by Ohio State. In those games, Jones has completed just 56.5 percent of his passes for 334 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.
He had two interceptions against Northern Illinois on Saturday and was pulled from the game after just three series. He was replaced by redshirt sophomore J.T. Barrett, who has appeared in every game this season.
Barrett completed 11 of 19 passes with a touchdown and an interception in the team’s 20-13 win, apparently was not enough to hold onto the job.
Ohio State hosts Western Michigan on Saturday.
