Hawaii: A penthouse with ocean views for $799? Yes, at Aston Waikiki

Living in luxury right on Waikiki Beach can be yours for less than you might expect. How does $799 a night sound for a penthouse with unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean?

The newly remodeled Royal Kai Lani Suite at the Aston Waikiki Beachside Hotel on Oahu can accommodate up to six people. Its 2,900 square feet contain three bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths.

The suite occupies the 11thfloor of the hotel and includes an expansive master suite that features two bathrooms with Jacuzzi tubs and separate showers. There’s also a gourmet kitchen, wraparound bar and even a laundry room. Guests are likely to spend a lot of their time on the spacious lanai, which provides vistas of both the beach and the sunsets.

The penthouse rents for $799 to $1,999 a night, depending on the time of year. During the first week of February, the hotel’s website has it priced at $1,299. By early April, the rate drops to $799.

Several websites, Hotels.com and Trip Advisor, rate the Aston Waikiki Beachside as a two-star property. The Waikiki Penthouse Suite at the 4 1/2-star Modern Honolulu rents for $5,000 a night.
