Pacific Palisades Traditional leads week’s most expensive sales

A Pacific Palisades estate with celebrity ties, the onetime home of actress Bette Davis and a pair of development opportunities in Beverly Hills were among the top residential real estate sales in the greater Los Angeles area last week.

$9.835 million, Pacific Palisades

Formerly owned by French-born comedian and filmmaker Dany Boone and his wife, Yael, the 12,904-square-foot home in the Huntington Palisades relisted in January for $10.495 million. Built in 2007, the Cape Cod-inspired Traditional features a two-story entry with paneled walls, a library with custom built-ins, a wine cellar and a screening room. Landscaped grounds take in mountain and ocean views. Gary Glass of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties was the listing agent. Alexandra Brew of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage represented the buyer.

$9 million, Beverly Hills

The onetime home of Oscar-winning actress Bette Davis sits north of Sunset Boulevard on more than half an acre with a five-bedroom Monterey Revival-style main house, a pool house, a pool, a tennis court, formal gardens and 331 feet of street frontage. A mahogany-clad office, a gym and a gourmet kitchen are among the interior features. Paul Czako of Gussman Czako Estates had the listing. Max First of Vantage Estates Inc. represented the buyer.

$8.3 million, Brentwood

Hedged by tall trees, the Italian villa-style home is entered through a foyer with a sweeping staircase. Built in 1925 and recently updated, 6,186 square feet of living space is highlighted by large formal areas, a guest house and a separate office/maid’s room. Jade Mills of Coldwell Banker and Brad Downs of Rodeo Realty shared the listing.

$7.695 million, Beverly Hills

Marketed as a development opportunity, this Beverly Hills estate came to market in early February and sold for the asking price. Centering on unobstructed ocean and downtown views, grounds of more than a third of an acre include a 1970s residence with five bedrooms and four bathrooms in 4,544 square feet. Dustin Nicholas of Nicholas Property Group had the listing. Adam Rosenfield and Kyle Giese of Matrix Realty were the selling agents.

$7.5 million, Pacific Palisades

This recently built New England-inspired Traditional in the Riviera area of Pacific Palisades listed for sale in February at $8.695 million. Crisp white interiors include a gym, a home theater, seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms in 8,200 square feet. A lower level features a wine cellar and tasting room and a wet bar. Marco Rufo of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties was the listing agent. David Offer, also of Berkshire Hathaway, represented the buyer.

$6.3 million, Bel-Air

The gated Mediterranean-style home in Bel-Air Crest entered contract after less than two weeks on the market and sold for the asking price. The 8,100-square-foot home features a formal entry with a sweeping staircases on either side. A covered patio with a fireplace, an outdoor dining pavilion and a pool and spa highlight the nearly half-acre grounds. Neetu Gillespie of Keller WIlliams Beach Cities had the listing. Jardana Leigh of Rodeo Realty represented the buyer.

$5.9 million, Beverly Hills

Set on a private cul-de-sac in the Trousdale estates, the half-acre, west-facing property contains a 1950s residence with three bedrooms and four bathrooms in about 2,800 square feet. Building plans by architect Paul McClean were included in the sale. Aaron Kirman and Paul Stukin of John Aaroe Group were the co-listing agents. Justin Paul Huchel and Drew Fenton of Hilton & Hyland repped the buyer.
