With the Clippers’ injuries starting to mount again, Coach Doc Rivers said the team might look into adding another player.

The Clippers have a 14-man roster, leaving them with room to sign another player to a 10-day contract if Rivers desires to.

Matt Barnes didn’t play because of a right hamstring injury. Jamal Crawford was out because of a bruised right calf and Jordan Hamilton didn’t play because of a sprained right ankle.

Blake Griffin played in just his second game Tuesday night after missing 15 games with a staph infection in his right elbow that required surgery.

Despite all the injuries, Rivers said his team isn’t giving in to excuses.

“I get the sense sometimes [but] I don’t right now. I think they’re ready,” Rivers said. “I think this team knows me by now. We’re not making any excuses. That doesn’t work in our league, and no one cares. They really don’t. No one really cares about anything but wins.

“The only thing they want you to explain is that. That’s what I tell my guys all the time: find a way to win the game. We’ll worry about all the other stuff later. But tonight, we have to find a way to win this game.”

Clippers keep Robinson

The Clippers signed guard Nate Robinson to a second 10-day contract Tuesday.

Before Tuesday night’s game against Charlotte, Robinson had played in five games with the Clippers. Robinson was averaging 4.0 points per game in 14.6 minutes per game. He was shooting just 24.1% from the field, 27.3% from three-point range.

“I still like his energy,” Rivers said. “The shots you figure eventually will fall anyway. That’s what he does. And he’ll take some bad ones and make them and miss them. That’s just Nate. But what we need him to be is an energy player.”

Robinson will be counted on to not only back up Chris Paul at point guard, but to fill the void left by Crawford being out.

“You’ve just got to be yourself,” Robinson said. “If they like you, they like you. If they don’t, they’ll let you know.”

CLIPPERS AT SACRAMENTO

When: 7.

Where: Sleep Train Arena.

On the air: TV: Prime Ticket; Radio: 980, 1330.

Records: Clippers 42-25; Kings 22-44.

Record vs. Kings: 2-1.

Update: The Kings have a very good big man in center DeMarcus Cousins, who is fifth in the NBA in scoring (23.7) and third in rebounding (12.3). But it still has been a trying season for a Kings team that has lost eight of its last 10 games. Sacramento is next to last in points allowed (105.4) and last in assists (19.9).
