LOS ANGELES, May 6, 2010 — Taking over Drai's Hollywood on Tuesday June 1st, LA, Los Angeles Times Magazine will present "Rock/Style: A Night of Music+Fashion." Common is set to host the exclusive, ticketed event - scheduled to coincide with the magazine's June 6th music issue - with DJ sets from StoneRokk, live music from Benny Cassette, and dance performances choreographed especially for the event by Millennium Dance Complex's Anthony "Kanec" Carr.

"Rock/Style" sponsor Jaguar will turn up the sleek quotient with the all-new Jaguar XJ gracing the Drai's Hollywood entrance and Macy's will strut the latest in fashion and summer's hottest trends.

"Music and fashion are two of the most transcendent aspects of American culture," said Anna Magzanyan, The Times' Vice President, Advertiser Marketing and Events. "Southern California - from Hollywood to the beaches - has inspired and nurtured both art forms, as they have inspired and informed each other, and we are thrilled to throw our first 'Rock/Style' event."

Gibson will also be on hand with one of its signature "Reverse Flying V" guitars, which will be given away during the festivities and OPI is working with LA's editorial staff to create a custom color blended especially for "Rock/Style" that will be given to event attendees before it's available in stores.

In the magazine itself, readers will hear from Common on the ten hard lessons he learned when he added acting to his career portfolio, and from super-star turntablists DJ Vice and Steve Aoki on how they get tough rooms grooving. Nic Harcourt (LA), Ann Powers (Los Angeles Times), Kat Corbett (KROQ) and Kara Lane (Amoeba Records) will share their picks for the next great L.A.-based indie band.

"LA captures our lifestyle - the people, fashion, design and trends that keep Southern California at the forefront," said LA Editor, Nancie Clare. "June's music issue sizzles with the energy and verve of not only what's influential right now, but also what's coming."

An open bar, appetizers and a gift bag are included with ticket purchase and overnight packages at W Hollywood are also available for "Rock/Style" attendees. For details, visit www.latimesmagazine.com/rockstyle.
