Our 2014 summer books preview highlights 143 books to enjoy over the next few months. We’ve got something for every taste, including engrossing detective fiction and fantastical young adult novels.

Among the authors on our list? Stephen King. As noted in our recent review, the champion of genre fiction makes another foray into the mystery-thriller realm with “Mr. Mercedes,” which gives a retired gumshoe a crime to solve.

But let’s say you’re not into guilty pleasures. No problem. Ulin, our critic, offers you some suggestion to feed your lofty reading aspirations.

What are you planning to read this summer? Let us know.
