From the pool of potential Hot Property items, here are a trio that were just too interesting to delegate to the delete key:

--If you loved the movie you’ll love the house? The Spanish hacienda-style home featured in the 2009 movie “It’s Complicated,” with Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin, is on the market at $12 million. The gated equestrian property is in Hidden Valley. The 57 acres include the 6,100-square-foot main house, a pool house, six-stall barn, a greenhouse and riding areas. The listing agents are Jerry Jolton of Coldwell Banker and Nicki LaPorta and Karen Crystal of Ewing & Associates, Sotheby’s.

--There’s a house up for auction in an old Marilyn Monroe haunt — the gated Solimar Beach Colony, which sits between Ventura and Santa Barbara. Monroe’s voice coach used to rent a cottage there under her own name so that Monroe could rehearse incognito. While married to Joe DiMaggio, Monroe was stopped by police for walking down the beach in the nude. An account of the incident — and a photo of the voice coach’s rental cottage — appeared in a 1954 issue of Confidential magazine.

The 4,316-square-foot beachfront retreat, with four bedrooms and four bathrooms, had been listed at $5.95 million, but the minimum opening bid May 5 at 2 p.m. will be $3.9 million. Santa Barbara agent Janet Caminite, of Sotheby’s, is working with Premiere Estates Auction Co.

--A mega drug bust and a presidential speech are among the claims to fame of Rancho del Rio, a 187-acre chaparral-covered ranch in San Juan Capistrano. In the mid-1980s, a former owner used the site as headquarters to dominate the West Coast marijuana trade. President George H.W. Bush later landed at the ranch by helicopter to deliver a national broadcast about the nation’s war on drugs. Perhaps still working on its image, the ranch will be the site of charity horse show June 9 to benefit Bethany Gait Ranch, which helps abused horses and troubled children.

There’s a main house, barns, fenced pastures, caretaker’s quarters, a vineyard, a stocked pond and, of course, a helipad. It was touted as “the largest piece of residential property available in Orange County” when listed at $22.5 million in 2008. This time around, the price is $12.9 million and Wayne Pridgen and Rodrigo Iglesias of Hilton & Hyland are the listing agents.

For the record, 1:50 p.m. March 29: A previous version of this post said the home featured in “It’s Complicated” is in Hidden Hills. It is in Hidden Valley.
