UFC heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez lists his California estate for sale

Mixed martial arts fighter Cain Velasquez, the UFC’s reigning heavyweight champion, has listed his estate in Gilroy, Calif., for sale at $1,699,900.

The home, built in 1999, sports designer interiors with detailed archways, columns, molding and raised ceilings throughout. Spanning more than 5,100 square feet, the single-story floor plan includes a chef’s kitchen, dining room, formal living room, office, five bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The master suite has a private sitting room and a two-way fireplace.

Grounds encompassing more than two acres include large patio spaces for entertaining, grass lawns and a playground.

Velasquez, 32, is among a number of MMA fighters who train at the American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose. A former wrestling standout at Arizona State, he regained the heavyweight title with a unanimous decision over Junior Dos Santos at UFC 155.

Public records show that Velasquez and his wife, Michelle, purchased the home in March 2012 for $1.045 million. Erica Trinchero of Coldwell Banker Gilroy is the listing agent.
