Soap star Drake Hogestyn sells retreat in Malibu

There will be no more days of his life at this Malibu retreat. Soap star Drake Hogestyn has sold his Tuscan-style two-story home for $4.45 million.

Built in 2002, the 6,616-square-foot house features wood-beam ceilings, French doors, hardwood floors, decks and balconies.

There are three fireplaces, a den/library, an office, five bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms. The living room and the master suite sun deck have ocean views.

The nearly one acre of grounds includes mature sycamore trees, a swimming pool with a spa, a sports court and an orchard.

Hogestyn, 60, has been on "Days of Our Lives" since 1986, with a few breaks when his character was supposedly killed.

The property was purchased in 2003 for $2.9 million, public records show.

Irene Dazzan-Palmer and Sandro Dazzan of Coldwell Banker handled the transaction.
