Singer-songwriter John Fogerty has put a house up for sale in the Beverly Crest area at $1.549 million.

The Traditional-style single-story home has been leased out in recent years at $5,400 a month.

Set on a three-quarter-acre knoll and surrounded by mature trees, the updated 1961 house features vaulted beamed ceilings, a stone fireplace and wooden floors. French doors open to a brick patio and the backyard.

The 1,920 square feet of living space include an entry, formal dining and living rooms, a center hall, a skylighted-kitchen with a breakfast area, three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Fogerty, 69, gained fame as the lead singer and guitarist for the rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival. The band, which was started in the late 1960s and had such hits as “Proud Mary” and “Who’ll Stop the Rain,” was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame more than two decades ago.

He later turned to a solo career, where he found continued success. His most recent solo album, “Wrote a Song for Everyone,” was released two years ago.

Fogerty bought the property in 2008 for $1.385 million.

Mark Wollman of Hilton & Hyland/Christie’s International Real Estate is the listing agent.
