Mariah Carey pops Bel-Air estate back on market
Mariah Carey and her husband, Nick Cannon, have popped their Bel-Air home back on the market at $12.995 million after a hiatus of more than a month.
Their seriousness about finding a buyer this time around may be indicated by their choice of a listing agent who has been around the block, specifically their block, several times.
Farrah Fawcett hired Paul Czako of Gussman Czako Estates to sell the then five-bedroom home in 1999 for close to $2.7 million, according to Times archives. The former “Charlie’s Angels” star had owned the three-acre property for more than 20 years.
Her buyer, recording studio executive Allen Sides, also had Czako sell the rebuilt and expanded house for him when Carey and Cannon bought it five years ago for $6.975 million.
The gated estate features a Hamptons-vibe traditional mansion with high ceilings, wood floors and French doors.
The 13,000 square feet of renovated interior space include a music studio, a basketball court, a gym, a home theater, seven fireplaces, seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms.
Most impressive is an expansive hall for entertaining that has vaulted beamed ceilings, walls of windows and room for several hundred guests.
The grounds include a putting green, a swimming pool, a spa, parking for more than 20 vehicles and room for a tennis court. There are canyon, city, mountain and ocean views.
Singer-superstar Carey, known for her enviable vocal range, has received five Grammy Awards. Among her award-winning work is “The Emancipation of Mimi” album and recognition as best new artist in 1990.
Cannon has written for several television shows bearing his name as well as “Incredible Crew” (2012-13). He has hosted his own shows and “America’s Got Talent” (2009-13).
