Rodney Peete’s Beverly Hills home for sale for $4.25 million
Former USC and NFL quarterback Rodney Peete knows a thing or two about completions. Now the question is: Can he complete a real estate sale?
The former football star and his actress wife, Holly Robinson Peete, have listed their Beverly Hills home for $4.25 million.
The contemporary Mediterranean has six bedrooms and 5 1/2 bathrooms. Built in 1988, the home sits at the end of a long gated driveway. The living room has high ceilings and three sets of doors opening to the backyard. A large dine-in kitchen flows to the outdoor entertainment area, which includes a pool and spa. There is a fireplace and bar in the state-of-the-art media room, and a sitting room off the master bedroom suite.
Peete played NFL ball for more than a decade, including stints on the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles, the Oakland Raiders and as a starter for the Carolina Panthers. Following his NFL retirement, he became a host of the Fox Sports Net show, “The Best Damn Sports Show Period.” He and his wife co-host “Meet the Peetes” on XM Radio.
Peete proposed to his wife on bended knee in front of a studio audience watching the taping of Robinson Peete’s “Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper.” The pair, married by the Rev. Jesse Jackson, now have four children, including twins.
Robinson Peete, whose dad was a TV writer and the original Gordon on “Sesame Street,” played Vanessa Russell for 38 episodes of “Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper.” She also starred in 34 episodes of “For Your Love” from 1998 to 2002 and 23 episodes of “Like Family” from 2003-04. She played Jackie Jameson in the 2007 TV movie “Football Wives.”
Additionally, she wrote two books, “Get Your Own Damn Beer, I’m Watching the Game!: A Woman’s Guide to Loving Pro Football” (2005), and “Proud Hands” (2007), a tribute to her father.
Barbara and Nicelle Robinson, both of Hilton & Hyland in Beverly Hills, are the listing agents, according to the Multiple Listing Service.
